Club de Golf Le Cardinal - Par 3 Course

This facility has an eighteen hole par 3 course and an eighteen hole regulation course. The Par 3 Course was designed for the beginning golfer, or a practice course to sharpen your short-game skills. It is wooded with well-manicured, small greens. In order to keep speed of play consistent, the Regulation Course is reserved for intermediate to low handicap golfers. The fairways are tree lined, comfortable to walk, and the wooded areas are kept clean. The greens are relatively small with subtle undulations, and both the fairways and greens are well bunkered. The signature hole is #4, a long 610-yard, par 5, requiring a long, straight tee shot onto a runway-like fairway with an out-of-bounds on the left and two ditches near the green. There is a slight left to right dogleg slope on the green and the left side is flanked with trees. Discounts are available based on the time of day and day of the week. Locker facilities are available. There is no course rating for the ladies' tee.

Best Course within 10 minute radius of Montreal, Jul 14, 2004

Cardinal is my favorite public course close to Montreal. The grounds are nice and fairways/greens are always superb. Very enjoyable course. There are a few better, but you either need a private membership or have to drive 1 hour out of the city. Most public courses close to Montreal are not that well kept (but continue to draw golfers) because of their close vicinity to the city. Cardinal is an exception to this rule.
