This course originally opened as a nine hole facility, the back nine holes were added in 1992. There is a creek winding its way through the course affecting play on ten of the eighteen holes. The front nine is relatively flat with the challenge of water affecting play on seven holes. The back nine was carved out of natural hilly terrain, resulting in dramatic elevation changes. Some fairways are densely populated with trees, and the undulating greens are quite large with many dips and valleys. There are two scenic signature holes. The first is #15, a 135-yard, par 3, which requires an elevated tee shot straight down to a sloped green. It's a wonderful hole for a hole-in-one, as you can watch your ball as it rolls into the hole. The other signature hole is #17, a 465-yard, par 5, which offers a breathtaking, panoramic view of the entire valley and Pelican Lake, as well as the course.

| This course is nuts. The first 9 I shot under my handicap, with a respectable 43. Going to the back nine was like changing golf courses. I thought I was on my way to a mid 80's score until I played the back. I could only use my driver on about 2 holes total due to the dense bush with nasty dog legs. From 150 yds. out, you have to put it on the green or you are in the bush. PERIOD. Needless to say, a good round for me was long gone as I recorded a nasty 54, for a total of 97.
I love using my driver, but even on the front nine, you had to be careful with it, due to oddly placed trees and water. If your irons on, you will shoot well, if they are slightly off, you are toast. |

| Wow, what a course!! It's like playing 2 differrnt courses!! The front 9 and the back 9 totally different from each other. The front 9 like many other prairie courses is flat and plays in the valley. It also has a challenging winding creek to contend with. The back nine is carved out within the hills, much like a mountain region course would play. Lots of different elevations come into play here and amazing views! The back 9 has a few narrow fairways with forest lining the sides, very challenging. All of the greens are large and have different elevations. Again challenging! A hidden gem within Manitoba!! A+++ |
