Red Deer Golf & Country Club 4500 Fountain Dr Red Deer, Alberta T4N 6W5 Phone: (403)340-4461 Fax: (403)347-0641   This mature course offers a variety of challenges throughout the design, including tree-lined fairways, some of which are narrow, while others are hilly, and a few dogleg fairways. The course is well maintained and has the reputation of being one of the best in western Canada. The undulating greens are average-sized and six are tiered. The signature hole is #9, a 436-yard, par 4, featuring a dogleg right fairway that calls for an approach shot over water. A good tee shot is necessary for a low score, otherwise you'll have to lay-up on the second shot. A visually pleasing hole is #17, a 155-yard, par 3, which has an elevated tee box planted with a variety of flowers. A particularly difficult hole is #6, a 508-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot from an elevated green onto a narrow fairway protected by water and trees. William G. Robinson designed the back nine, which was added in 1986.

The guidelines suggest 4 hours to play; however, even though we could not see anyone behind our party, the director sent a young employee out to complain that we were holding play up. Finished the course in 2.5 hours. The course was clean but many divets not repaired/replaced on the course unfortunately. I felt that the Golf Club was interested in taking our money but once paid wanted us off the course as soon as possible. Absolutely no respect or encouragement for the newer players in our group. Great course. Easy to walk. Fairways very lush. Greens were very nice but a little slow. A bit pricey. Nice new club house. Food was OK. Can get a grilled hamburger outside each day. Parking lot needs to be repaved - mostly broken asphalt and gravel - not up to the status of a private club. He lips them off and gets them in trouble for no reasons.he sucks up so much to adults and hes a terrible golfer. The course is usually in great shape and offers a bit of a challenge. A new club house was recently built and it is beautiful. The food is excellent and everyone is kind and friendly.
