This course is situated in a valley surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. This is a mountain layout that was cut out of the woods, but there are no blind shots. Every hole is isolated from the other. The fairways are rather narrow, making accuracy and precise ball placement important. All of the greens are small in size, several of which have contoured surfaces. Every green has strategically-placed sand bunkers surrounding it. The signature hole is #18, a 357-yard, par 4, requiring a slightly elevated tee shot to the fairway. The second shot requires going over a lake and a sand bunker to a large green, which is not very deep. Ball placement on the second shot is crucial to achieving a good score.
