This exhilarating eighteen hole course provides what many consider to be one of the better golfing challenges in the province. Open in places, the course plays quite crowded with tall pines and fir trees entering into play. Winding Scotty Creek cuts through the center of the course, creating a hazard on no less than seven holes. On three of these holes, #5, #13 and #18, the creek crosses the fairway immediately in front of the green, providing problems for golfers who come up short with their approach shot. Sunset Ranch can accommodate any golfer of any skill level. With four tee boxes on nearly every hole, novices to professionals can find challenge on its fairways. The designers of Sunset let nature dictate the shape and form of the course and followed the natural contours of the slightly hilly terrain upon which the course has been built. Starting with the raw landscape, course architect J. Bruce Carr created a track that highlights many of the area's natural features. The 6,299-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 76.3 and slope of 131. The 5,752-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 67.3 and slope of 120.

Golfable Golf Quote of the Day:
" If you want to take long walks, take long walks. If you want to hit things with sticks, hit things with sticks. But there's no excuse for combining the two and putting the results on TV. Golf is not so much a sport as an insult to lawns. -- National Lampoon, 1979 "
