Course Description
This club added a back nine to its Ranch Course in the fall of 1997 and now has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Quarry Course is well manicured and has no water hazards. There are five holes that surround a quarry, giving this course its name. The signature hole is #15, featuring an eighty-foot drop in elevation as you play down into the quarry. Because this course is so hilly, it should not be considered a typical Florida course. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 55th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 59th in 1997-98. The publication also chose it as the 3rd "Best in State" course for 1995-96 and 1997-98. "GOLF Magazine" chose the Quarry Course 45th on its list of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 53rd in 1997 and 60th in 1999. "GOLFWEEK" chose it 14th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, 23rd for 1998 and 17th for 1999. The front nine on the Ranch Course was built on natural terrain and features many waste bunkers. The Ranch Course is also very hilly and features large, undulating, well-bunkered greens. There is no signature hole, however, the finishing three holes on the back nine are considered by most to be the best and most challenging. "Golf Digest" selected the Ranch Course 10nd on its list of "Best New Private Courses" for 1998.
