Course Description
This facility is part of the seven facilities that make up the Robert Trent Jones Trail through Alabama. This club offers two regulation eighteen hole courses and par 3 eighteen hole course. All three courses are extremely scenic. Lakes come into play on all three courses, and the terrain is hilly. The Crossings Course and the Falls Course are championship courses with challenging designs. The courses are typical Robert Trent Jones designs with many large sand bunkers and large undulating greens. The forest areas definitely come into play if you don't hit a straight shot and the wooded areas can greatly add to the difficulty. The Falls Course has rolling hills and elevated tees and greens. You will have many side hill lies throughout your round. The signature hole on the Falls Course is #10, a 570-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot to a peninsula green. The Crossings Course (you must cross the railroad to reach hole #13) is hilly and features hole #4, similar in design to Augusta National's feared hole #11. This course is used as a phase site for the PGA Tour Qualifying School. The Short Course has many pretty holes, playing from elevated tees to elevated greens. "Golf Digest" rated the Falls Course 43rd among "The Top 75 Affordable Courses" for 1996, and the Crossings Course was chosen 50th in the same category. The same publication also selected the Falls Course as the 4th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 6th for 1997-98. A senior discount is offered for all three courses from Monday through Thursday before 9 AM. You can walk the courses, but pull carts are not allowed. While tee times are taken up to forty-five days in advance, there is a small charge per person if you book more than seven days in advance. Fridays are subject to the weekend green fees. Special "trail passes" are sold that reduce the cost of green fees. If you have a AAA card, each of the clubs provide a fifteen percent discount off green fees and merchandise in the pro shop. For more information or tee time reservations call (800) 949-4444.
