Course Description
This resort, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," features three regulation eighteen hole courses and a nine hole par 3 course. "Golf Digest" rated the River Course 4th and the Woods Course 6th among the "Best Public Course's" in the state for 1996. The same publication rated the River Course as the 7th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 12th best for 1997-98. The River Course has water hazards that come into play on nine holes. The tree-lined fairways are tight, and the greens are small. The Plantation Course has water hazards coming into play on eight holes. The fairways are tree lined, and the greens are fast. The par 3, Bray Links Course has tight, tree-lined fairways and small greens. There is water that comes into play on two holes. The longest hole on this course is 109 yards. This course is for the hotel guests only, and playing the course is complimentary. The newest course is the Woods Course, designed by Tom Clark. "Golf Digest" rated it as the 13th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The front nine has open fairways and is easy to walk, but the back nine is very hilly and carts are recommended. Water comes into play on seven holes. One of the toughest holes from the regular men's tees is #3, a 412-yard, par 4. Holes #12 and #15 share the same green with a sand bunker in the middle. This course is more difficult than the River Course. The club annually hosts the PGA Tour's Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic, which is played on the River Course. Soft spikes are strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
