Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course - North Course -- Five stars is not enough for this one...
Review by: C. Moore I have played the North Course a couple of times, and I never get tired of it. What else can you say about Torrey Pines other than it is a true treasure of American golf. If you want to know about the layout of the course, consult your latest version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf on your computer. Nuff said. As a San Diego newbie, I will give you tourists a word of advice. Make your tee times directly if possible. Torrey Pines is a tough place to get a tee time, but not impossible. Save your money and do it yourself, and you can save serious cash. On the other hand, if you have disposable cash and can pay a Reservation Company to handle it for you, so be it. As a SD resident, this course costs me about $20, but I would pay $100. One last thing: As great as the course is, there is something of a myth about how crowded it can be. I have met more San Diego golfers (and we're talking serious golfers who have lived in San Diego for a while) who have NEVER played either TP course. So, don't be discouraged and get a tee time.
