Greenfield Lakes Golf Course -- Nice, wide open course with moderate greens
Review by: John I have played this course several times in the January through March time period, and found it to be fun. It is not a challenging course, the fairways are fairly flat, no bunkers, and the only water hazards are off to the right. There is enough grass on the fairways to make getting it there an advantage over the 'rough'. But except for a few holes, there is no real tall grass except around the greens.

The course is laid out in a housing development, and there is only a couple of holes you could hit into another fairway or tee box. Someone's garage or pool is a possibility though. Be sure your insurance is paid up if you hit banana balls.

The greens are average, with some two tiered greens. Ball speed is a little fast, but not too touchy.

This is a good course to work on your iron play. There are several par 3s ranging from 100 yards to over 180 yards. The par 5s are very reachable in two to anyone that can drive 250 yards off the tee. Some longer fours are easily reached with a 3 or 5 wood followed by a 4 or 6 iron. It is playable in three hours by a twosome that is not in a hurry.

My favorite is the par 5 18th. It has a gully to the left that sucks up misplaced drives, and water to the right off the green that sucks up misplaced irons or fairway woods. Yes, I've been both places.

Other than lengthening the course, play could be improved with some bunkers. There are a few holes where it looks like bunkers are either planned or were removed. I can't think of any hole where you have to be picky about approach shots. Course management comes down to getting it into the fairway, and then onto the green. If you can do that, then no worries.

My only gripe is the location of the driving range. It trickles balls onto the first hole just about where a short drive ends up, making looking for yours an adventure. Get there early to not have to deal with it.
