Lonesome Pine Country Club -- Lonesome Pine
Review by: J. M. Wilington This is a short course but will kick your butt if you get cocky. Greens are always pretty nice and quick - several a bit smaller than average. It's designer had lots of fund cutting holes and tee boxes out of the mountains. Several picture holes, namely number two where you start about 100 yards ABOVE the hole which plays a par 5 but is easily reachable in two. There's another nasty par 5 on the back nine that only plays about 400 yards but the fairway is as narrow as a keyhole and has a dogleg left which requires a precision iron shot then an approach to an uphill green. It's tough to get on this green in three. Clubhouse is cool. People are great. Good deal if you know a member and can get on.

Lonesome Pine Country Club -- mountain side curiosity
Review by: Bill A course carved out of the impossible--a steep mountainside locale. Delightfully sharp changes of elevation on many holes, either high tee boxes or elevated greens. The tight little bentgrass greens can be challenging. 1st is typical: short but very uphill to a small, two-tier green. Few birdie it. 8th rises to a steeply elevated green, easy to under/overshoot. Course looks easy, plays fair and very sporty.
