Evergreen Golf Course -- *Great golf course*
Review by: Doug Polen	I think it is a neat golf course. It isn't very long, but it is a fun course. The front 9 has very small green and the first 3 holes plus the par 3 5th and par 5 9th can play pretty tough. The new back 9 is a real treat. Very tight and a par 4 and a par 3 that play straight up a very steep hill to the top of a mountain. The view from there is fantastic, you can see forever. You then play a par 5 back down the hill that is really neat. I think it is a great golf course for the money. I paid $26.00 for green fee and cart.

Highlands Country Club -- *Fun course*
Review by: BillG	Highlands is a fun little track. It's a nine hole layout and not long, only one par five. Par fours average about 285 yds. Great views of the Hudson Highlands and West Point.

Lake Wilderness Golf Course
"Good targeted golf layout"
Likes: This is a good test of any golfers skill. It requires you to think and plan from the tee. Golfers who like to pull out "The Big Dog" and grip it and rip it on every hole will not like this course. The course forces you to play smart to score well. There are risk/reward holes worth the gamble, and others that attempt to sucker you. If you play smart you can score well at Lake Wilderness. If not, it may be a long day. This is a shorter course. The clubhouse has good food and good beer. Dislikes: Only one really. I don't care for holes where there are houses close. This course has a handful of them.

Palmetto Golf Course
"Surprisingly challenging course"
Palmetto golf course in Miami is not a championship level course. That being said, it is a good course for the mid- to high-handicapper, and when the wind is up can challenge low-handicappers as well. The course is not long or narrow, and like all Miami courses is primarily flat. However, water does come into play on 10 of the holes (although on most it's a visual nuisance only) and can easily ruin a good round. The 'signature' third hole is a good example. The water on this hole is a canal that fronts the entire green (about 10-12 yards in front of it) and makes your second shot somewhat intimidating. In fact, when the wind is up, you may have anything from a mid to a long iron in, and quite a few people play it as a par-5 and just lay up to 100 yards to avoid the thought of a 180-200 yard carry over water to a short (but wide) green. The better player will not be intimidated, but the average golfer can be. Palmetto has several holes that reward target golf, as some of the greens (such as the par 3 11th) are huge, meaning if you miss on the wrong side you could easily be left with a putt of 60-80 feet. Others, such as the short par-3 17th, feature tiny greens surrounded by bunkers. The main complaint about this course is the greens. They tend to be uneven in speed from hole to hole and day to day, and often are not very smooth. That being said, when they do run true, they can be tough, as they have numerous ridges and slopes that make for slippery par putts. Overall Palmetto is a very good value. While it doesn't compare to the elite courses in the area, for a nice day of golf, particularly for the average (mid to high handicap) golfer, this is a good pick.

"A Beauty"
One of the most beautiful executive courses you will ever see. Beautifully maintained with greens that will make you pull your hair out. Do I hear "3 putts"? You will have a few. A tough little cookie. Dont underestimate and treat this like a pitch&putt course. Great clubhouse with food.
