Brownsville Country Club -- Ease of play
Review by: Robert Rooks Brownsville lacks one hole of having a terrific layout. Hole #2 is a par 5 that needs help. Greens year in and year out have been a problem. Hardpan surface and lack of consistant grass make every chip and putt an adventure. Cost and speed of play make it a place to play. Not a course that you bomb away with yout driver each hole. Water hazards throughout the course (7 holes) and out of bounds on 7 holes provide excitement. Definitely a place to see at least once.

Germantown Country Club -- Tight but Dry
Review by: George The course always appears in good, if not great shape. I found the fairways to be relatively tight and well manicured. The problem that I have with the course is the lack of difficulty. Very little water exists anywhere, and with the exception of a few holes, the scenery is plain. To go to the next level requires additional streams and ponds, as well as elevated greens and tee boxes. More sand traps in a few places would add to the lack of terrain as well. Having the phone actually work (#9 tee box to the "grill") would be a real plus as well.
