Mackinaw Club, The
Wilderness Golf Course

Mackinaw Club, The -- Good Course for the money
Review by: MIke Cherveny The course has been slow in developing into a 5 star upnorth golf course. But each year the course has matured. The fairways and greens are becoming lushier. I think it is due to lack of funds. The course is very challenging and for the money ($40 ) it is well worth the trip to Mackinaw.

Willow Wood Country Club -- Best Course No One Knows About
Review by: Scott Lazaroff If this course was in Lansing it would be talked about with the best of them. For a course like this to be in Portland is unbielivable. Word of mouth latley has brought in more play. Most affordable non-municipal course within 30 minutes of Lansing. For low scratch golfers, course must be played from the back tees. Very short from foward tees but still can jump up and bite you. I shot a 69 from the backs last year and also had a 83 from the forwards so depending on how you are playing it can range in score. Pro and staff at course are excellent. Best 4-man scramble in town (June Time).Course is kept in tip top shape. Used to have a dirt parking lot and trailer club house now it challenges any club house Mid-Michigan. Great pro-shop ranges from Pro V-x to Top Flight.KEEP DRIVING.You drive and drive and do not think a course this nice can be where its at and then BAM you have Williow Wood!!! Trust me go there and you will know what I am talking about.
