Lochmere Golf Club -- AKA Swamp-mere
Review by: John M Wet, boggy course. Poor drainage, generally lots of mud spraying everywhere. Good course during drought conditions. Shots can be challenging as many are blind. Second star is for the practice facility, however, which is about the best in Wake County.

Raleigh Golf Association -- Ball Washers and Water for Your Thirst
Review by: Vernon L. Brookins The Raleigh Golf Association course on Tryon Road in Raleigh earns fours stars. I have played it several times over the last five years, and I am pleased with course layout. The hills on 98% of the holes add challenges. The artistic, stone, tee markers listing distance from the blue, white and red tees, and displaying the holes' layouts are great. Water coolers on at least six holes provide relief for thirsty golfers, and a ranger is always present to assist. For a price of less than $20 (before 2 PM weekdays), this is an inexpensive, good, Southern golf course.
