Summerfield Golf & Country Club -- great short course, always in perfect condition
Review by: thomas jones I've played this course over 300 times the last 7-8 years in total and other than mid-winter through early spring, the course is always well kept. The only issue ever is water logged conditions during the wet season. The members all pitch in to keep the tee areas well kept and the fairways and greens are very lush. The greens are on the slow side but fair and very well kept. There are 6 par 4's and 3 par 3's. If you play the back tees on this course the par 3's are 180, 175 and 145. #2 (1st par 3) is one of the hardest par 3's in Oregon.     #3 is a tough par 4 that does not reward a long drive as there is a huge oak tree smack dab in the right half of the fairway about 80 feet tall that will block your second shot unless you hit a low pitch and run. The green is two tiered and it is best to leave yourself a full wedge into the green, so lay back with an iron off the tee.     The entire course is built within a neighborhood which means OB is in play on every hole. This is a very good course to practice course management and iron play on. The longest par 4 is about 350 yards so in reality you don't even need a driver on this course, but for fun pull it out on #4 which is a very wide hole, #6, and maybe take a run at the green on the downhill 280yd 8th hole for an eagle opportunity.     There are bunkers on every hole. Water comes into play on #5 and #9. Overall it is a very good value.
