Columbia Golf & Country Club -- Short but challenging
Review by: LR CG&CC is a challenging course (slope 133) not because of its length (only a bit over 6,200 yards from the back tees) but because it is tight requiring accurate tee shots. In addition, the greens are small, fast and undulating so you need to hit precise approach shots and be a solid putter. In fact, this course is one where the "golfer" as opposed to the "big hitter" can shine and let the big hitters "reload".

Chenango Valley State Golf Course -- I Love This Course
Review by: Spring Creek I have played this course for 40 years. It was one of the first I ever played. But even though I moved away from the area 25 years ago, I still play it whenever I can. Deer and turkey are not uncommon sights as you play this course that was cut out of a forest. The course has just the right combination of difficult holes. Number 4, a par 5, is one of the most difficult holes I have ever played. Truly a nasty brute. Number 8; at 85 yards is probably the shortest par 3 I have ever played on a legitimate golf course. However, it is not all that easy to par because of the severely sloping green. In my opinion Chenango Valley is a joy to play and for the money you will not get a better value anywhere.
