Witch Golf Links, The -- *Challenging and well maintained*
Review by: Jim	The Witch Golf Course near Myrtle Beach is a challenging and scenic course. Unlike other courses nearby that were built in clear cut areas, the Witch is in part forest and part swamp. One hole in particular is memorable, you drive onto an island fairway, then you use a medium iron to an island green, with swamp in all directions. Wild game is seen throughout the course area. If I lived in the Myrtle Beach area, I would obtain a membership at the Witch.

Lane Creek Golf Club
"great course"
I have lived in Athens for 6 years and have played many golf courses in the area. Lane Creek has been one of my favorites. Its a great place for tournaments and daily play, The staff is welcoming and the course is always in good shape.

Deer Run Golf Course
"One of the best courses in the area"
This course is a very mature course with a scorable front 9. The back nine is more diffecult to score on, but it can be done if you take some chances. This course is definatly one of the better courses within a fifty mile radius. 5 lakes come into play not three and there is a large creek that runs through the middle of the entire course. The entire course was carved out of the timber so it is very mature. Over all a good course for a small town.

Redgate Golf Course
"A great test with a great staff"
if you put your shoes on in the parking lot, and you want to teach the private club fellas a lesson about the grand old game, invite them to bring their games (and attitudes) to rockville's great local muni. make a mistake and add strokes to your round. manage your game, and your temperment, and put up a good number. the course has always been a top ranked muni, known to locals as a tough and demanding test of golf. redgate is not for high handicappers: do not tee off from the back tees unless you are a 10 or better, she'll eat you alive. if you want to play a solid course that will make you manage yourself and you game, try redgate, and when those private club guys wonder how it is they scored well above their posted handicaps, smile and mention that golf is meant to be played, not worshipped.

Madison Country Club
"A small and wonderful gem"
The Madsion Country Club is located near Long Island sound in a very open and pleasnt setting. The course is always kept in wondeful condition and the greens are just magnificent. The front nine is relatively flat and open, with water coming into play on three of the holes. The back nie is a bit more of a challenge because of the more undulating topography and trees. Little wonder why the club has a huge waitng list.
