Conquistador Golf Course -- Old and new Press
Review by: Adam Clayman With a decade between construction of the two seperate nines, this course is a time capsule in green construction and indirectly, golf course design philosophy. The front nine greens, built in '61, hug the land and were built by the son of a famous architect, Press Maxwell. Press's pa, Perry, is responsible for some great courses among them Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson Ks. Enjoyable, walking golf course at elevation, is a nice change from the cart path climbing monstosities built today. A tree removal program and recapturing some old fill pads, would make this hidden gem really shine.

SouthRidge Golf Club -- Fun & Challenge
Review by: D Although there are more than a few houses along the course, the overall layout is fun and challenging. Front nine is shorter, but water, ob and hazards can take a toll. Back nine is a real up and down. 10 is par 4 up the hill, 11 is a par 5 you can make in two if you can clear the ditch and 12 is back down the hill par 3 that you dont dare over club or your dead.Best news is when your done the food is as good as any local resturant and priced right.
