Conquistador Golf Course -- Old and new Press
Review by: Adam Clayman With a decade between construction of the two seperate nines, this course is a time capsule in green construction and indirectly, golf course design philosophy. The front nine greens, built in '61, hug the land and were built by the son of a famous architect, Press Maxwell. Press's pa, Perry, is responsible for some great courses among them Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson Ks. Enjoyable, walking golf course at elevation, is a nice change from the cart path climbing monstosities built today. A tree removal program and recapturing some old fill pads, would make this hidden gem really shine.

Applewood Golf Course -- Geohimself
Review by: Geohimself@aol.com This course gives the average golfer some variety and callenges. The back ground of the foothills of golden and the fresh air of Colorado give this golf experience a great day out. The long drives and short par 3's give the course a great mix to use all of the clubs in your bag.
