Conquistador Golf Course -- Old and new Press
Review by: Adam Clayman With a decade between construction of the two seperate nines, this course is a time capsule in green construction and indirectly, golf course design philosophy. The front nine greens, built in '61, hug the land and were built by the son of a famous architect, Press Maxwell. Press's pa, Perry, is responsible for some great courses among them Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson Ks. Enjoyable, walking golf course at elevation, is a nice change from the cart path climbing monstosities built today. A tree removal program and recapturing some old fill pads, would make this hidden gem really shine.

Indian Peaks Golf Club -- Top Municipal Course in northern Colorado
Review by: Carl N Hale Irwin designed course that takes maximum advantage of the terrain. Signature hole is the 18th with an impressive view of the front range of the Rockies. Course uses more land than the average municipal, so plenty of room to work with. Most impressive features of the course are the staff, one of the most professional and customer oriented of any muni anywhere. Almost as impressive is the maintenance of the course. Despite heavy usage throughout the summer, conditions of the fairways and greens consistently rival most semi-private and private clubs. Excellent practice facilities as well. A bit pricier than the average municipal course here in Colorado but well worth the few extra bucks.
