Conquistador Golf Course -- Old and new Press
Review by: Adam Clayman With a decade between construction of the two seperate nines, this course is a time capsule in green construction and indirectly, golf course design philosophy. The front nine greens, built in '61, hug the land and were built by the son of a famous architect, Press Maxwell. Press's pa, Perry, is responsible for some great courses among them Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson Ks. Enjoyable, walking golf course at elevation, is a nice change from the cart path climbing monstosities built today. A tree removal program and recapturing some old fill pads, would make this hidden gem really shine.

Collindale Golf Course -- Public course gem
Review by: RLA Collindale golf course is easily one of the best public golf courses in Colorado. Its greens alone are well worth the visit to Fort Collins. They are fast and true and sloped from back to front. Saturday and Sunday pace is slow so go on a weekday if possible if you like a fast round. The fairways are totally flat with the exception of one or two slightly elevated holes.Nice walking course. There is plenty of touble to get into just slightly off of the fairways in the rough with a decent amount of mature trees to impede your approach shot. The course plays great from the tips for an above average golfer. The greens are superb... keep your ball below the flag. Nice driving range and cheap city fees make it a great place to golf. Friendly staff.
