Featured Golf Course Review:
| Cushing Country Club -- Great greens |
| Review by: Anonymous |
Cushing is a course that tests a whole lot of different shots you may have in your bag. The par 3s all vary in length and a couple of the par 5s are reachable with a couple of good pokes. The two finishing holes are a couple of challenging driving holes with approach shots to elevated greens. The one thing that has always made this course good is the greens. They range from large contoured greens to some that are postage stamp like. The green fees are a little steep but that is because it is semi private. Great course. |

| Oakwood Country Club -- Beautiful, demanding course with Incredible Greens |
| Review by: Steve Smith |
This is a Perry Maxwell splendor. Nearly all of the greens slope back to front as a welcome reception to a usually long approach. The undulations on these greens are one small step away from being unfair they are so difficult. The reason they still qualify as fair is because of their immaculate condition and true roll. These bent grass greens are among the toughest but well maintained in the state. The golf course has imagination and if you don't drive it straight, you will be penalized. There are opportunities on the par 5's, but again, you must put your drive where it needs to be or a possible 4 can easily turn into a 7 or worse. Overall, this is a fantastic golf course. There's a reason why they have sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open at this wonderful track. |
