Early Donald Ross course, tight fairways, tiny greens with winds off the Peconic bay affecting play rewards ball control.Old fashioned layout very pleasant, the course completely integrated Bay -Island landscape. |

Played on a September afternoon...pace of play on a weekday was excellent (4 1/4 hours). Played from the blues since it seemed short, but tightness of fairways and undulation on greens makes up for lack of distance. Probably hit the driver too often...when a well placed iron off the tee would have been more sensible.
You won't lose a lot of balls, but you'll be hitting out from under trees if you are wild off the tee. Grass range was a nice touch. |
