Stevens Park Golf Course -- *Short, Scenic Muny*
Review by: Denzil Brinley	This municipal golf course is located in a beautiful neighborhood just across the river from downtown Dallas. The holes are very short so most people play from the back tees. The course is completely tree lined with numerous creeks/drainage ditches so it is very easy to lose balls. It is best to play with someone with local knowledge; otherwise, you will over/under drive a lot of holes. For example, the #3 is a short dog-leg up a very steap hill. Your drive should only be about 170 yards with a 9-PW to a narrrow, elevated (60-80' above your head) green. Or take the #4 par-3. The green is at least 60' below the tee box. Depending on the wind and temperature, you will play a PW to 7 iron. There are two holes on the back-9 where you can drive the par-4 greens. However, you can easily put yourself in trouble if you aren't dead-on with your drives. I really like this unusual, scenic target-golf course.

Circlestone Country Club
"Circlestone - a player friendly experience"
Circlestone is situated in a beautiful country setting, just outside of Adel, GA. This course features wonderfully challenging play for all levels. Mid to high handicappers will find this course friendly enough to allow fun play, while low handicappers will be challenged enough so that they don't walk away feeling gipped out of their green fees. The course is always well maintained, and features a friendly and courteous staff in the pro shop.

Bent Creek Country Club
"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

Montecito Country Club
"My first course"
I grew up playing MCC. The main criticism of the track has always been that you never get a flat lie, which is often enough true, but a weak criticism nonetheless. When typically fast the greens are challenging (hint: everything breaks toward the ocean); on #13, if you don't keep it below the hole, any putt you don't sink will wind up all the way at the bottom. The course favors a longer driver, and offers plenty of challenge and opportunity for creativity. And you can't beat the view of the Pacific.

La Paloma Country Club - Canyon/Hill Course
"Tough Nicklaus course in beautiful resort setting"
La Paloma golf course (any of the comibinations) is as tough a test of golf as you will ever have. If your game is not on, it will be a long, long day. Course condition is great and is set in one of the nicest resorts you will ever see. Amenities are first cabin all the way (enjoy a great lunch on the patio following your round). Staff is cordial and helpful. Forecaddies required of all groups help keep play moving and they truly earn their money. One of the nicest golfing experiences I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy -- if you can -- I urge you to play La Paloma.
