Ferncroft Country Club - Championship Course -- Scott B
Review by: Scott Bronstein I've placed hundreds of courses in this country and Ferncroft for a resort club is one of the better places to play! For a private resort the cost of greens fees are perhaps a bit expensive, but you have to willling to pay to play one of the better well run courses in the area! The Bent grass on the fairways and greens are always well maintained. The layout is challenging for a course of just over 6,600 yards from the tips. They've just rebuilt the 3rd Green and 4th Tee. From time to time depending on the season they may have some standing water issues. From what I've been told by the Director of Golf they are taking care of this in the near future with a new irrigation system.

Mill Valley Country Club -- A diamond in the rough - with lots of value and challenge!
Review by: Chuck P. Mill Valley is a (newer) full eighteen and from the blues - incredibly challenging! I struggled to score as both the distance (6600 yards) and tree lined fairways add to the difficulty of the course - The views are very pretty. Fortunately I played with a member or I would have had trouble navigating a few holes. Fairways are still filling in - in some places on the new holes. One hole, a double dogleg par 5 is one of the most challenging in New England. You need a perfect drive to get down in five. I loved this course - even the walk was fun (very hilly) yet challenging! The greens are very fair (Tricky!) and large -The potential of this course is immense! Great clubhouse and staff. I'll be back!
