With almost 15 years of DFW-area golf course perusal behind me, I rate the Canyon West course as one of my top 10 (The Cliffs at Possom Kingdom being #1). It's scenic, challenging (from the back tees for sure) and deceptive (first time I played I hit good tee shots on three of the par 3s and wasn't on the green on any of them!!). On a calm (wind free) day it presents a challenge with some tough tee shots required and some good iron play into the protected greens (e.g., #9). Would rank it, especially with coupons for early- and late-day play, very high in list of 'must play' courses. And, for anyone planning an outing - especially if attendees will be more local to Ft. Worth - it's an ideal spot. |
