Emerald Lakes Golf Center -- The nicest 9 hole around
Review by: Morris Emerald Lakes is a fun little course that provides the basic golf experiance to the younger golfers in the Elk Grove area. The course has many hazards, including hole 5 which is as good as an island hole as you could get at any 9 hole course. The Course tends to be real hard in the summer and extremely wet during the winter. Give the grass at least 3 or 4 days to soak up water after a hard rain or you'll be chipping out of the mud on most holes. Overall, the course provides just enough amusement to keep the low end golfers happy, while aslo providing a great practice facility including a driving range, chipping green, and putting green. The bottom line, this is the best 9 hole course in the Elk Grove Area.

La Canada Flintridge Country Club -- Nice little course
Review by: Anonymous The course is short but hilly and tight so most golfers find it challenging. Greens are usually in excellent shape. The front nine and back nine are almost completely different courses, with the back being very hilly with narrow fairways and several elevated tees. Best holes on the front nine are 2, 6 (a 5 par), and 7. Number 7 would be a great hole on any course; 190 yard par three from the blue tees shooting across a huge ravine. Best holes on the back are 12, 13 and 17. Course management is key to this course; need to really think about risk/reward of using a driver on several holes due to the narrow fairways. No driving range but nice little practice area. Friendly members. Usually can play a round in three to three and a half hours. You will likely see deer, and watch out for rattlesnakes in the heat of the summer. Great views of Pasadena, the Rose Bowl and downtown LA.
