Timbers at Troy, The -- Must Play
Review by: Zeek The course is very beautiful. Bentgrass fairways and greens, and with a cart path only policy, very well maintained. Not too challenging and a bit pricey ($108 for two w/cart). A good treat, though when you have the extra cash. I would have ranked it a 4 if it weren't for the price.

Turf Valley Resort & Conference Center - North Course -- Homemade, and it shows
Review by: Previous member This course was made on the "wetlands" (in Howard County?) and because the "designers" (read owners) had to work around so many natural areas, it is mostly rinky-dink. Extreme doglegs with long second shots into sloped greens. Blind shots. Newer holes were worked into the old courses and you have a "new" green on one hole and an "old" green on the next and the grasses are different. Try getting used to that! Poorly maintained, crowded. Nice hotel pool, that the members couldn't use when I was a member.
