Evansville Country Club -- Hidden Gem
Review by: Madison Golf Nut This is a great value for your golfing dollar. Not a long drive from Madison but definitely better than the Madison city courses, for about the same price. Three of the longest playing par 4's in the area (3,8 and 17) and overall one of the toughest holes around (number 9), if you play the blue tees. Nice blend of old and new holes. Very nice greens. Lots of character. The bad news is that they do not have a convenient driving range.

Thornberry Creek Country Club -- Ringing Endorsement
Review by: Folger Smith The 18 hole course is very challenging with woods and water coming into play. The course is actually a composite of an older nine coupled with a newer, more open nine featuring water and bunkers. Par 3 12th is most scenic followed by a wonderful par 5. Enjoyable to play. Due to the routing through a residential community it can be tough to walk although I've done it on occasion. Definitely worth playing. The course hosts many outings during the season so call ahead.
