||I should disclose upfront that I am a member of The Hawthorns. It is a fantastic layout, and one of Arthur Hills best designs. It has hosted USGA open qualifications, and national tournaments such as The Women's Western Golf Association Amatuer Championship. In 2005, it will host the PGA's Northern Regional Club Professional Championship. It is a prarie style golf course which makes it unique in Indiana, and is an excellent strategic golf course that you have to think your way around. At 10 years of age, the course is maturing nicely; we also just had Arthur Hills in to do a few tweaks to the course, including a few new tee complexes, sand bunkers, and adding or extending a few of our lakes. It is a fun course to play, just make sure you play the right set of tees for your skill level.
