Harding Park Golf Course - Fleming Course -- *terrific 9-hole course*
Review by: Ace	even though Harding got all the attention during the renovation, the Fleming track received the same TLC and it is obvious. Great bargain for someone wanting to shoot 9 holes with top-quality teeboxes, fairways and greens.

Sheraton Steamboat Golf Club & Resort -- *Dutch*
Review by: MJ "Dutch" Elting	A tremendous couse in a beautiful mountain setting, especially in September and October when in full fall foliage, the afternoon temperatures in the low 70's and the skies so blue the horizon lines become razor sharp. The back nine challange you with mountain streams, blind doglegs, an occasional buck jumping from a creek bed and or lofty tee boxes daring you to choose a loftier iron for dropping it between the aspens and the traps.... Not too many courses in the world offer better views, thinner air for longer drives, or nicer people to pamper your needs. July through mid October is prime... take plenty of time and the closest of friends, I guarantee you a memorable experiance and a challanging round!

"New design poor, operation run poorly..."
The scenery is nice and price is about average for a public course, but here's a few pet peaves: - The course was redesigned a few years back to try to squeeze a few more stokes onto par by making it a par 69 from the original 66. The results were in my estimation, terrible. They basically redesignated two long par 4's into short par fives, combined to par 3's into a par 4, and added a 50 yard new par 3. - The proshop is run extremely unprofessionally by retirees and kids under 16. I've also witnessed the "owner" hanging around and acting like a yahoo. Let's put it this way, not your typically golf links proprietor! - The greens are colored during the summer with some bluish dye that gets all over your clothes, clubs, and ball. I suspect it covers up the burned out yellow spots on the greens. - Finally, I've never seen greens like the ones at this place. They are kept long and are, by far, the slowest I've ever encountered. I've literally seen playing partners skull a wedge from 60 yards and it doesn't even roll off the green. Weird.

Perry Golf & Country Club
"Best kept secret in central Iowa"
With rolling hills and mature trees, Perry G&CC is an aesthetically pleasing, yet challenging course. A beautiful pond surrounded by wildflowers is in play on the # 2 and 3 holes. Greens are in fine shape and medium fast. Accuracy off the tee is important because of the trees and some uneven lies. Although it is a private club, green fees for non-residents are easily accessible and very affordable. Carts available. The clubhouse staff is friendly and accommodating. Well worth your time and money.

a very green and tree filled course....in great shape...fun to play....not too hard, but challenging nonetheless....beautiful views of clubhouse on 9th and 18th....a bit short, but if played from the back tees is long enough for most big hitters
