Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort -- *Rocky Gap Review*
Review by: Mark	A beautiful course setting with mountains all around and a lake near by. Interstate 68 is a bit too close to the course but that is a minor distraction. The "open" section of the course is a bit boring. The mountain section is quite a lovely challenge. My biggest gripe is that I prefer to walk but this course is too spread for that. A cart is a must. There is a set of tees for every skill level. For the price, the course offers good value. This is a fine location for a corporate get-together. Good meeting areas, fine dining, great golf in a convenient yet relaxed setting. The Golden Bear has put a true beauty in Western Maryland. One nine is perfect and the other needs a wee bit of tinkering to be great.

Review by: Anonymous	I play Chartwell every day in the summer. It is a good solid golf course. The course can be quite asy at times, but provides a great time. By the way, the greens fees area is wrong it is not 20-49 dollars, it is closed to guests.

Mill Creek Golf Club
"Living and Playing Mill Creek"
I chose to live in the Mill Creek Community after playing Mill Creek Golf Course. The course is long enough to challenge the low handicapper while allowing the average golfer to handily compete. While each hole presents its unique challenge, holes 7, 9, and 15 can be particularly formidable. Hole 7 is a reasonably short par 4, just 326 yards from the white tees and 400 yards from the championship tees, but take the ball out of the fairway -- kiss it good bye. Hole 9 (359 yards from the white tees and 439 from the championship tees) commands distance and accuracy from the tee if one expects to reach the green in two. A bed of rocks to the left of the fairway, woods to the right, and a ravine paralleling its length on the left with a wide ditch crossing the fairway about 50 yards from the green, simply command excellent club selection. Hole 15 and be a pussy cat or a bear. Wind in your face requires a long wood. Wind with you, and a five iron may place your ball in a 50 yard water and grass hazzard which crosses the fairway about 100 yards from the green. The entire course undulates and winds through just over 7000 yards from the championship tees. The fairways allow the ball to be played down while the bent greens firmness can cause many putter miscalulations. All in all, this is a great course -- especially at fees ranging from $39 - $59, cart included.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. I am a member at Sadaquada. The club itself is great, good location, good family scene. The course is 9 holes, and is a fairly simple course. However, they do keep the course in great shape and are constantly working to improve it.
