Bayshore Golf Course -- Nice, but expensive
Review by: rcf Recently renamed Miami Beach Golf Club, Bayshore Golf Course, one of the oldest courses in the area, has just undergone a major renovation. The facility was closed for almost a year while the city of Miami Beach poured much needed money into this old muni. The course emerged a nicely manicured track that is inviting and challenging. Wide open fairways still dominate the layout, and the par three’s continue to be routine. The renovation did not add length from the tips, but water is definitely in play almost everywhere. The renovation did add heftily to the cost of play, making this course one of the more expensive municipal facilities around, even in the off-season. Be prepared to pay between $85 to $185 depending on what time of the year you play. The Club also offers annual memberships, but these too are relatively high for a semi-private facility. The bottom line is that the newly transformed Miami Beach Golf Club does not stand up to the better courses in South Florida, but is now charging just about as much. This is a nice course to play, but there are much better values in the area.
