Geneseo Golf Course -- Home(ghost)town
Review by: Brad Rolfs For the beginner, it is an ideal course as the most valuable aspect of the game (any game) is fundamentals. This wide open visible atmosphere is perfect for working on your game. The fact that this course is on the outskirts of a virtual ghost town is a tribute to those who have worked to sustain it. The many different activities that occur during the year (tournaments, fish frys, meeting places for alumni, etc.) emphasize the importance of building relationships. This, grouped with the fun of the game itself, lends to the relaxed atmosphere of prairie life in Kansas. Oh ya, it's very affordable. Tell me, how many places can boast that these days?

Sugar Hills Golf Club -- Goodland
Review by: David Sutton Sugar Hills is a great course to play while your in the area. It is probably the best course in Northwest Kansas. It is one of the few 18 hole courses in the area. Sugar Hills for the majority of the course, is pretty open. There are some challenging holes with trees, dog-legs, and out-of-bounds standing in your way. It is an advantage as always to hit it straight here, but you can still score decent even with a few bad shots. There are some pretty forgiving holes. And there are a few holes that you may pick up strokes on for not hitting fairways. Mainly because of the out-of-bounds that runs all the way down quite a few fairways. It is a great course to play and really enjoyable from tee to green.
