Well manicured course, relatively narrow fairways with some rolling hills. Medium sized, moderately fast greens have some level changes. A creek meanders through the course, coming into play (affecting choice of shot) on four holes, with ponds affecting shots on an additional two holes.
Course slope is primarily the distance from the tee, rather than difficulty of the shot required from the various color tees.
Excellent clubhouse facilities and dining. |

I make room in my schedule to go to Wintergreen to play Devil's Knob every year. The scenery is breathtaking. There is nothing like hitting your tee shot from high up on the mountain tee boxes and watching it sail gracefully down to the fairway. The course is very challenging. Course management is a must. Of course, getting up in the A.M. and watching the sun come up from your balcony is another plus. |
