Holly Tree Country Club
"beautiful and testing"
Holly Tree offers a beatiful layout along rolling hills in Simpsonville. The holes are all unique with something special about each one that makes fun to play over and over. My favorite whole is number 17 because it is short dog leg left where ur first shot needs to be long and straight, and then its downhill from there with a short low approach onto a well protected green.

Knollwood Golf Course
"A womans point of preference"
Very challenging course for women. Men are impressed with women who can hit stright drives and consistant fairway shots onto the green. Men have a problem at Knollwood because of their ego gets the better of them.

Barksdale AFB Golf Course
"Fun course! Hitting wedges accurately=low score"
Well, I was in the military stationed at Barksdale AFB for a time, but recently became a civilian. I played this course on several occasions while in the Air Force, but at the time my seriousness for the game had left. In high school, I played everyday. But after playing this course again from a serious perspective, I wish I had kept my game up. Being that I was an Airman, green fees were only $7. Wow, for that price I would give the course 5 stars. But, I played this course again as a guest, and paid $21. Even still, this is a good course for the price, and I think it deserves 4 stars. First of all, the bunkers are phenomenal! White, fluffy sand. Reminds me of several trips I took to Mexico. Second, the greens were excellent. VERY fast! Many were undulating, which led to some very slippery putts. Which makes the course, ultimately more fun. The condition of the course was quite good. Tax dollars going to a good cause! Obviously, our servicemen deserve a golf course in excellent shape! My only qualms with this course, is it's length. Quite short. It led to a great score for me, and I was happy. But if I were to play this course 30 times, I believe it would become almost too easy. I know golfers love to post a good score, but most of us like to be challenged. There are a few challenging holes, but most are too easy. There isn't much trouble. No water, but then again, some holes come frighteningly close to the street, with many cars passing by. Even with it's problems, the course still deserves 4 stars. If my friend invites me, I will certainly play again at Barksdale.

Cape May National Golf Club
"An interesting course"
Cape May Nat'l is designed to take advantage of and highlight its natural setting. The par-3 3rd offers tees on both sides of the green allowing a choice between a 185 yd hole over water or a 110 yarder where the water is not a factor. The par-5 4th starts with a 175 yard carry over marsh and the par-4 5th is all sand for the first 150+ yds. The 11th and the 18th are my two favorites. Almost every hole is interesting in its own way and a challenge for any golfer. At the same time, the average golfer should not be intimidated and have an enjoyable round. Generally well maintained, the condition depends heavily on the weather. In good weather, the course is beautiful.
