Featured Golf Course Review:
| Tavistock Country Club -- Average at best |
| Review by: Jeff |
Played a as guest in mid-May. Boring Course. Grrens are OK -- a lot of undulation. Not a lot of memorable holes, with the exception of a couple par 3's. 16 (I think) is a par 3 with a stupid green. Conditions were not much better than a public course. They need to bring in a USGA course guy. I know it is an old course, but too many bald spots due to the thickness of the trees. Need to get some sun and air circulation to help with conditions. And what's with the range? Nothing over a 150 yards... I Try to play as many of the privates as possible, but I'll put this in the "Been there done that..." category. |

| Mercer Oaks Golf Course -- Windy and Long But a Fair Test |
| Review by: Kurt |
This county course has matured nicely over the last decade and while you may have a 5 hour round on the weekend, it is still an enjoyable track that will test most of the clubs in your bag.
The course plays tough but fair and most holes allow you to see the challenge ahead. Very few (if any) blind shots and no trickery. If you play from the back tees, bring your canon, you'll need it. A cut above the average municipal course, well worth the cost even at non-resident rates. |
