Featured Golf Course Review:
| Tavistock Country Club -- Average at best |
| Review by: Jeff |
Played a as guest in mid-May. Boring Course. Grrens are OK -- a lot of undulation. Not a lot of memorable holes, with the exception of a couple par 3's. 16 (I think) is a par 3 with a stupid green. Conditions were not much better than a public course. They need to bring in a USGA course guy. I know it is an old course, but too many bald spots due to the thickness of the trees. Need to get some sun and air circulation to help with conditions. And what's with the range? Nothing over a 150 yards... I Try to play as many of the privates as possible, but I'll put this in the "Been there done that..." category. |

| Francis Byrne Golf Course -- Tough Course ... Good Exercise |

The lack of par 5's makes birdies tough to come by. Plenty of elevated greens, slopy fairways smallish greens. Being in the South Mountain area, the course has many several holes where you drive downhill; very picturesque. Hole 4: tee straight up maybe 30 feet and doglegs left. Hole 9: must be some 7 stories high. Hole 10: long drive with elevated green to the left. Lots of up and down... walk for a good exercise. |
