| Sand Springs Golf Course -- A tight, no-frills pleasure |

Five-year old Sand Springs is located at the intersection of Rtes. 80 and 81 in the Pocono Mountains. The first course in PA to offer bent-grass from tee box to green, the course is always in excellent condition. This is a shotmaker's course-- there is little room for error, as the trees and wetlands come into play just yards off the fairway. Reading the holes from green to tee, and knowing where to place your next shot, will enable a low score. Don't look for lush water hazards, or well groomed sand traps-- Sand Springs plays into its mountain environment, allowing the trees and wetlands to broach most shots. A variety of lengths on 3s, 4s and 5s. Greens at peak of season are fastest in the area. Don't expect to be blown away by the track-- it's a simple, tight and highly rewarding challenge. |
