Jackson Heights Golf Course -- *Worth the Drive*
Review by: T-dog	A very nice 9 hole course in the middle of no-where but fun to play. Right off Iowa hwy 24. This course has 3 sets of tees. Can be breezy but holes play upwind, downwind and crosswinds no matter what direction the wind blows. Large undulating greens. Some bunkers. Water in play 3 holes. # 1 if you are bold enough to cut corner and fly over. #8 150yd par 3 water short & left. #9 if you go to far right off the tee trying to get home in 2 on Par 5. OB left on 4 holes. This is one 9 hole course I would be a member of if I lived in the area. Very friendly staff and free popcorn is always nice.

"New design poor, operation run poorly..."
The scenery is nice and price is about average for a public course, but here's a few pet peaves: - The course was redesigned a few years back to try to squeeze a few more stokes onto par by making it a par 69 from the original 66. The results were in my estimation, terrible. They basically redesignated two long par 4's into short par fives, combined to par 3's into a par 4, and added a 50 yard new par 3. - The proshop is run extremely unprofessionally by retirees and kids under 16. I've also witnessed the "owner" hanging around and acting like a yahoo. Let's put it this way, not your typically golf links proprietor! - The greens are colored during the summer with some bluish dye that gets all over your clothes, clubs, and ball. I suspect it covers up the burned out yellow spots on the greens. - Finally, I've never seen greens like the ones at this place. They are kept long and are, by far, the slowest I've ever encountered. I've literally seen playing partners skull a wedge from 60 yards and it doesn't even roll off the green. Weird.

Buffalo Dunes Golf Course
"The Best Pound for Pound"
The dunes is possibly the best course for the money in the entire state! I give the course five stars due to its all around duffer enjoyment. The course itself allows for not just a fun but also a challenging round. The beauty of such a course in such a desolate location is unbelievable, as is the staff. You couldnt ask for a friendlier environment!

This course is a jewel hidden in the middle of central Minnesota. The course is challenging and the green putt nicely. It was in good condition and easy to walk this past fall. The ninth is the signature hole. The staff was very cordial. The only drawback would be the driving range, which is ok, but not the strength...

"Review"
I think it is a nice course with friendly people. I golf there all summer at least once a week. Starting this summer there going to have 18 holes instead of nine. That will be alot better even then what they have now. I think it is a good course with a freindly atmosphere.
