This course is a nice course in contrast to other local courses that may very well offer a more manicured facility. The contrast that I am talking about is People. The price of golf sometimes is the reason that alot of really talented golfers do not get to play as much as they would like. Sonny Guy is very affordable and in my opinion for the amount of money paid absolutely the best course in this area for the dollar spent. Within the past three years ( 2002-2003) the city of Jackson Spent well over one million dollars to renovate the grounds including a new watering system which has dramatically affected the course in a positive way. The course is no longer the dust bowl it sometimes was called it has very good fairways and well manicured greens. The city also Bought all new golf carts from EZ Go and built a new tunnel to more safely cross from the front nine to the back. The Club PRO Harold Burt is a very skilled and likeable person who I think does a tremendous job running this faciltiy with the money that he has available to him. All in all I think just trying this course in person would sell anyone on what they have been missing out on. Socially I cant think of another club that can top this one. There are three internal clubs one of which I am lucky enough to be on the board of (The Capital City Mens Club) and they have a variety of tournaments and functions that make your experience at the course more enjoyable. I personnaly was asked to re-locate to another state recently and eventually turned the proposal down ( even though I probbaly lost money) because of the individual friends I have made at the course and the group or game I play in Friday - Sunday at 10:00 am. Well Ive said enough just try it and Iam sure you to will love it.
