Black Oak Golf Course -- *Black Oak golf course - in Auburn, California*

Folks might think - for such a cheap rate - it would be a goat track or a cow pasture (as my husband has referred to a few places we've stumbled across)... but NOT this course! Black Oak is a beautiful, peaceful setting with lush fairways and well-maintained greens; water, sand, big trees, and wildlife (deer & wild turkeys!) My husband is a much better golfer (handicap 12) than myself (handicap 34) - but this little course was challenging & fun for both of us. The staff was very accommodating, welcoming us for a walk-on round of golf while on our way up to Reno. They have power carts but the course is a gorgeous walk. We thoroughly enjoyed playing there, and only wished it was 18 holes - instead of just 9!
