Hickory Knoll Golf Course -- Hickory Knoll a Hit
Review by: J.C. This course has a lot of rolling hills. It sports mostly par 3 holes, but also offers three par 4's which allow folks an opportunity to break out a Driver or 3-wood from the tee. The most diificullt of these is the 285 yd. 6th hole which requires a blind tee shot over a small hill in front of the tee box. There is no water in play on any hole and the greens are medium fast with subtle breaks to challenge even skilled golfers. The 5th green is sloped severely from back to front, so take care to remain below the hole or face a treacherous downhill putt. Of the par 3's, the 210 yd. 4th hole is the longest, requiring a long, accurate shot to a relatively small target.

Downers Grove Park District Golf Course -- Bring an MRE
Review by: Mark G. The only way to play this challenging and charming 9-hole municipal course in less than 3 hours is to be the first group off the tee. Seniors own the mornings, and kids slow down the weekends (my own among them). I have played this course over a dozen times, and I have to allow 4 hours to get through this death march. I suggest calling ahead to find out how slow the course is playing before going to the first tee. If you don't, better bring a meal.
