La Mesa Country Club -- *July 2004*
Review by: Local	This course has been through a major renovation in the last 4 years. All the greens were re-designed, sand bunkers were added to every hole, and water hazards were added to holes #1,3, and 9. Cart paths were re-paved June '04. It is now in the best shape it has been in in the last 20 years. Very wide fairways with a pretty long cut for the rough and lined with trees. The greens, while not the fastest, putt true. It is now a public course, only crowded after 5pm and weekend afternoons. If you can play it other than these times, it is definitely worth your while.

Bluebonnet Hill Golf Club & Range -- *Best Value in Austin!*
Review by: Peter Philips	I think I've played almost every course in Austin and by far I would say that Bluebonnet Hill is the highest ranking course on my list b/c they keep their course in as great a shape as the high-dollar courses and yet their green fees are about the cost of a municipal course. "The best in Northern California"
Simply the best in worst greens, worst drainage and highest price! Can't be beat! Course maintenance? What the hell is that? It's not need here, cause crabgrass takes care of itself both on and off the greens.

This course used to be one 1 star course but they have worked hard to make the course 2 stars. The greens are much nicer than a year ago. this course is good for learning the game, it's a very easy course.

Nisqually Valley Golf Course
"A good winter course"
This is a good course for golfers who can have fun without elaborate amenities. Practice facilites are minimal as is the proshop. The main assets are: golf value per dollar (great senior rates), minimal paved golf car paths so a ball is seldom scuffed and ricocheted to bad places, playability through the winter as the drainage is good because only minimal grading was done during construction. Walking is easy as there are only three areas that rise 20 or thirty feet. There are some nice oak tree framed views of Mt. Rainier. On approximately 90 acres this is, consequently, a very compact course with fairways side by side, so be alert to the call of "fore" and protect yourself. You should not hesitate to yell when you strike one out of your fairway.

golf course was started in the 30s.several local people of interst kept it going by volunteer work..in 1957 the membership fee was.$9.99. over ten there was a state tax.. beautiful views from most holes . of jay peak.. a challanging old 9 holer.. full bar.. no starting times.. small greens.. if ya break 80 your good.. excellent resturant.. you'll like it... busy on weekends..
