Middletown Country Club -- A rest of skill and courage
Review by: Casual golfer Loved the course, scored high. Layout was very nice, greens were really tough to read. Lost most of my strokes on the greens. Can't wait to play again.

Indian Mountain Golf Course -- Good, Reliable Golf
Review by: Richard Now first let me say that I first played at Indian Mountain as a kid in about 1955. The course hasn't changed much since then. It is relatively open, fun and plays pretty fast. I think the last three holes are the most interesting: a hole surrounded by pines, a par three that drops straight down, and a finishing dogleg where you get to choose how much of the corner to clip. The trap on the 7th hole is in the middle of the fairway, and if I remember correctly, not all that far out. I can tell you that to a kid with a relatively short drive it was like the gaping mouth of a whale. The course is surrounded by pretty country, and Indian Mountain is a reasonably priced place to have a very enjoyable and workmanlike round of golf. The greens are not all that interesting. I'm sorry to hear that another reviewer had such a poor experience; I remember the original owner (pre 1960!), a guy named Alex, being just great.
