Wildhawk Golf Club -- Nicest course in Elk Grove area
Review by: Morris Wildhawk is one of the nicer courses in the Sacramento area, if not the nicest. I have golfed here more times than I can count and I have yet to be dissapointed by the condition of the course. Everything is always take care of very well and the staff are always more than friendly. The course layout is done nicely and is relativly wide open. For anyone looking to get away from the narrow fairways and tons of trees of their home course (cough*Dry Creek*cough), this is the place to go. All of the holes are perfectly laid out to provide a challenge to all golfers alike, and all do it without the use of narrow fairways and groves of trees. Bunkers come into play on all but 2 holes, and water is no stranger either. Among the fun holes are the 3rd, 6th, 9th,16th, and 18th, which all provide blind tee shots due to significant doglegs. The 18th is my favorite though, due to it's hidden creek that lies 250 yards down the fairway. The hole doglegs to the left, leaving the creek to split the fairway in half, one half straight foreward and one to the left beyond the trees (the only ones on the course). The green here is also guarded by a significantly sized lake, which will catch your approach shots if you're not careful. On to the bottom line. This course is not an easy course by any stretch of the imagination, but I guarantee you will be having too much fun to notice your ballooning score.
