Featured Golf Course Review:
| Cog Hill Golf Club - Dubsdread Course -- Classic Design, Difficult Test | ||
| Review by: Dogtrack Master | I began playing this course in the mid-80s when it was a $35 bargain. It now gets over $100 a round, but it is worth the price to play one of the greatest courses in the Chicago area. The pros who play the Western Open here find it to be a fair test. The most difficult holes are #4, short par 4 with water and difficult green to hit. Hole #6 is a long par 3 with a tricky green and lots of bunkers. Hole #9 finishes the front nine. It is a three shot par 5, with lots of trees. On the back nine, #13 is a long par 4 with a ravine in front of the green. The green itself is long and narrow. Hole #16 is a picturesque hole with water down the left side and a tricky green. The course finishes with a long, difficult par 4. Beware of the pond on the left side. This is a course that forces you to put the ball in the air. The greens are well-bunkered and nearly impossible to run-up a shot on. This is a great course that you shouldn't pass up. | |
