First off, I didn't actually PLAY Blackberry Farm so take that into consideration. The reason I didn't play it though is because when me and the wife went to check it out there was nothing appealing at all. There's a shack for a clubhouse with a small restaraunt and "out back" is the first tee. From what you can see of the course without actually walking it, it doesn't look very well maintained or scenic. It reminds me of a course I played as a kid the locals called "The Pea Patch" where there were no features, no scenery, no maintenance, and NO FUN.
This course just looks boring and to pay even $9 (or whatever they ask) just seems too much when there are courses like Santa Teresa and others all around. Heck, Deep Cliff is less then a mile from Blackberry Farm and even if you didn't play all 18 holes you'd still be getting a better value in my opinion from what I've seen and heard. |
