Featured Golf Course Review:
Oak Forest Country Club -- Its OK
Review by: Robert The course is pretty difficult because of tight fairways. My biggest complaints are a lack of rough and the greens are never in great shape.

Gus Wortham Park Golf Course -- good and getting better
Review by: tom Gus Wortham GC went into a tailspin from mismanagement 2 years ago but the city took it back in 2003 and the old place is really picking up. 2 new greens and 2 new tees, grass and trees are cut, new sand in bunkers, irrigation fixed... Management is trying hard to win back customers and dropped green fees while the temporary greens are in. Now it is a 3 star and gaining maybe half a star a year. What I like best about Gus is the layout. It is a course you can play every week and not get tired of it. 14, 15 and 16 are kind of boring but all the rest have interesting features. Very good walking course. Gus has all the practice facilities, a cafe and an excellent pro. The price is amazingly low considering it is only 3 miles from downtown, maybe because the neighborhood is not that good. Except for weekend mornings it is easy to walk on.
