Club of the Country, The -- Is now Metcalf Ridge
Review by: Rex The course is now known a Metcalf Ridge. The best time to play is between mid April (when the fairways start greening up) thru Sept. Dry weather is not a factor on course condition(s) due to several ponds used to water the course. When other courses are brown and dry this one stays green. These same ponds become "hazards" on the 7th & 16th and a few others if you have a bad slice. Overall the course is very nice, but tests your skills due to the fairly narrow fairways, rather tall and very thick rough, and the few times you need to cross the small creek which runs through the middle. I rate this course 4.5 stars on a 5 star rating.

Sugar Hills Golf Club -- Goodland
Review by: David Sutton Sugar Hills is a great course to play while your in the area. It is probably the best course in Northwest Kansas. It is one of the few 18 hole courses in the area. Sugar Hills for the majority of the course, is pretty open. There are some challenging holes with trees, dog-legs, and out-of-bounds standing in your way. It is an advantage as always to hit it straight here, but you can still score decent even with a few bad shots. There are some pretty forgiving holes. And there are a few holes that you may pick up strokes on for not hitting fairways. Mainly because of the out-of-bounds that runs all the way down quite a few fairways. It is a great course to play and really enjoyable from tee to green.
