Nickol Knoll is a very unique experience. It is located high on a hill and as such, wind can become quite a factor. The course is relatively short with rolling terrain. The longest hole measures only about 149 yds. but offers a picturesque view of the green from a high, elevated tee with a small lake bordering the hole on the left. Walking is allowed, but it is mostly uphill on the second thru fourth holes. Many of the holes are well-bunkered and the greens are on the medium to fast side. The course is kept up to near immaculate conditions, which is surprising for a park district course. Very enjoyable. |
