I find Fox Creek to be the most enjoyable golf course in the area. I regularly drive 45 minutes from West St. Louis County to play there. This course has all the attributes I look for in a course. First it's an extremely challenging course, very well designed with water hazards around elevated greens and tree lined narrow farways. There are three difficult par 3s and some very interesting dog leg par 4s and 5s. Second, its a scenic course that combinines asthetics with challenge. Third, its cheap. I played 18 with cart for $30 on Sunday. Finally, its never crowded. I have never waited to tee off and on most rounds during the week, rarely encountered many other golfers. Weekends same. One of these days golfers will discover this course, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying it.
The only complaint I have is the ocassional poor pin placement and failure to address pooling water in low lying areas of fairway. Otherwise, the fairways and greens are normally in above average condition. |
