Somerset is one of the most challenging courses in the state of Minnesota. There are no gimmicks nor are there any apparent obstacles. Greens are large and water is sparce. The course is not long and the fairways are ample. Sand can be easily avoided and the rough is manageable. This description posits the idea that the course is easy. However, the course beats even the best of golfers on and around the greens. A good drive and approach shot are at most a convenience on this course. The importance of controlled wedges and cagey putting is quickly apparent. Enjoy the old fashion mystique and don't be lulled by the courses appearance. |

My grand-daughter and I will be traveling from the coast of Washington to a family re-union and plan to visit your club the second week of August,as we believe it is on the original farm of our ggg-grandparents the WAGENKNECHT'S. The course has to be a 5 Star!!!! Do have any history on the property. Thank you for any info you can send. |
